Shamanic Herbalism: Plants and Animal Medicines (*)

Nature is the All Life, All Soul, All Home, and All School. The minerals are her bones, the plants are her vital force, and the animals are her motions, instincts, and emotions. We humans add only self-consciousness and separation. Outward Nature is the expression of an inner model, the Real Nature. The plants are the All Medicine. These truths may not be manifest today, in our world, but it once was known and will be again. This is what we are headed towards, in human evolution.
Each plant represents a vital power that is analogous and curative for, and educational about, a bodily, psychological, or spiritual principle, or in fact, all three. The uses are marked on the plants by their “signatures” or “signs,” and the Language of Nature, is one of association by signs, not by logic. The Green Tongue is the Language of the Shamans, different for each person but also the same for all of us.

Making a Shamanic Herbal Medicine Kit

The Shamanic herbs are those that help with spiritual or psycho-spiritual problems. They also can reset external or outward events, i.e., change the arrangement of events, or even alter memories. Some of them, of course, encourage or increase shamanic skills (dreaming, vision, recapitulation).
In this class Matt will show us how to make salves and tinctures for specific purposes.
Elder—Mother Hylte and the Hulda folk;
Yarrow–first aid, Warrior Medicine;
Burdock–Bear Medicine, lipids, adrenals; Solomon’s Seal–Wolf;
Agrimony or Cinquefoil–Wolf.
Monarda–Deer Medicine;
Rabbit Tobacco, Helichrysum–Rabbit Medicine, tonic;
Ghost Pipe–Cloud Medicine, separation (if available);
California Bay Laurel–Them, the Guardians of the Planet.
This also provides a good set of medicines for acute health problems; colds and flus–Elder, Yarrow, and Rabbit Tobacco.

Pulse, Tongue and Facial Evaluation

This class is intended for those who seek to be professionals in the field of herbalism, acupuncture, or feel a need to pursue education in holistic evaluation. We will look at tongues and faces of ourselves, and guests that want a ‘free evaluation’ and pictures. We will take pulses, learning the basic system taught in Chinese medicine, plus some of the pulses used in Greek medicine. Matthew Wood studied pulse diagnosis at the California School of Acupuncture and has been practicing for over thirty years. He is the author of Traditional Western Pulse Evaluation, with Francis Bonaldo and Phyllis Light—-book recommended but not required. Volunteers (guinea pigs) welcome for analysis.
The Golden Flower & the Holy Grail Visions and Dreams of our Planetary Future

Everything changed at the beginning of the decade, January 2020. I had dreams and visions about Upper Michigan, of all places. One set had to do with dragons. I must say, they became my friends. Another had to do with a “golden donut” of light around the heart. My friend Tracy has similar dreams. More artfully, she referred to the “golden flower.” We saw that in the future our lives would be based upon our love and connection to the Living Earth. Our loves, vocations and knowledge, our interactions with partners, communities, and ourselves, would emanate out from her and be in harmony and based upon here. The flower was the Earth, our own heart, and the petals were the our loves and wisdoms. The vision resembled The Secret of the Golden Flower, a ancient Chinese text.
This is a class about visions and dreams for the future, my own and yours, about the Golden Flower, the Holy Grail, and even the Dragons, the kundalini of the planet.

Judy Liblein
Judy Lieblein is a shamanic/clinical herbalist and energy medicine practitioner in practice for over 28 years. She teaches herbal energetics, elemental theory, and plant spirit medicine.
Judy maintains a general private practice with client of all ages. Her specialties are in plant spirit medicine, trauma, grief, transformational processes, kundalini, and spiritual emergence. She owns Sacred Rose Herbals, an organic herbal product line
Her work is focused on cultivating health and well-being, personal empowerment, and independence with the blessing of the plants, ancestors, and the elements.
Judy has worked in the fields of Energy Medicine, Sustainable Agriculture, Native Plant Restoration, Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation, Social Permaculture and Spiritual Emergence.
